In the life of a community minded church, events happen spontaneously every week! As a result, there is not enough time to put up every gathering or meeting that happens at Providence Church. Our regularly scheduled events include the Sons of Issachar (men’s meeting), Women of Virtue (women’s meeting), Hymn Sing, Disciple Builders, Pekin Manor Ministry. For more information on these events, go to our ministries page.
But, we hope to list events here that are “special!” These events are more “planned” and will are designed to spiritually bless you! Check back often!
Reformation Day Faire

Mark your calendar for this exciting event! We will be recreating a German village from 1517 and celebrating the work of the Lord in the life of Martin Luther and the early days of the Reformation. Feasting, singing, learning, and rejoicing! An event for all ages!
Here is a partial list of the activities…
- Visit with Martin Luther “in person”
- Rejoice with Psalms and hymns
- Enjoy a theatrical presentation on the life of Lady Jane Grey
- Stroll through the Wittenberg shoppes
- Learn historic dances
- Charge the hill in a boffer war
- Watch an archery competition
- Recite the catechism
- Beware of the stocks and indulgences!
The event will be from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm
We will share together a German medieval feast. Dress will be casual, modest attire - period costumes encouraged!
This would be a great time to taste the goodness of the Lord in history and in the community of Providence Church!
